DIY Paw Print Ornament
Ingredients
- 1 cup white flour
- 1/2 cup salt
- 1/2 cup water
Directions
Step 1: Mix all your ingredients together and knead until dough is completely mixed. If it’s too sticky then just add a little more flour.
Step 2: Roll dough out until 1/4 -1/2 inch thick depending how you want it. Remember this is a personal gift so it doesn’t have to perfect
Step 3: Use cookie cutters or a glass to make cutouts for the ornament.
Step 4: Press paw into dough.
**Warning: Cats may not like this and you may suffer from minor scratches. Oh and the first one will come at perfect because they don’t know what your doing until they feel the dough.
Step 5: Use a straw or pen to make a hole at the top of your ornament. Also, note the size of the hole when you go to buy your string or twine to hang the ornament. If you get it too thick it won’t fit through.
Step 6: Place ornaments in the oven at 250 degrees for 2 1/2-3 hours or until fully dry.
Step 7: Wait for your ornaments to cool. Paint your ornament. You can use acrylic paint or watercolors. I really like watercolors because they absorb into the dough and also create a soft look. Remember use your creativity to make it your own.
Step 8: Last but not least tie your ornament to your gift basket or hang on your tree. Tis’ the season to love our pets and include them as part of the family. After all they bring us so much joy and comfort when we need it most. Spoil them rotten and give them lots of love.
